‘Edible Forest Gardens’ volumes 1 & 2 by Dave Jacke & Eric Toensmeier.So much detail and knowledge in these stellar texts. Volume 1 provides and context and wonderful leaning content to the theory and practice of Edible forest garden. Volume 2 in particular is one of our ‘go to’ references for food forest design.We often are using the tables and charts for picking out the perfect polyculture of plants for each site we work with.

Books and films by Martin Crawford are packed with practical insights from his famous forest garden in Devon in the UK.

‘Backyard Foraging: 65 Familiar Plants you didn’t know you could eat’ by Ellen Zanchos. An inlighting book full of the food that surrounds us but we didn’t know about. Leaves, flowers, nuts, seeds, roots & more. This book was a welcome invitation to remember that even in our ‘ornamental gardens’ we are surrounded by food – if only we knew what to look for and how to use it!
