Why 'Garden Juju Collective'?

It started out as playful talk—"These fruits are delicious juju," or "Pass me the juju fruit sauce"— and soon became something deeper. "Juju is the doing," - it's the energy of making life-full decisions and taking action.

Garden

Gardening is about cultivation. It's a blend of creativity, craftsmanship, physicality, and connection—with the land, plants, and people. It's more than growing things; it’s about creating regenerative ways of being and fostering relationships between humans, land, culture, and ideas. True gardeners relate to both human and more-than-human worlds, with a network of living, felt relationships that extend far beyond our own. Gardening is literal and metaphorical cultivation.

Juju

Juju is the essence, the life-fullness, the energy of play. It’s giving and receiving, transformation, and jump-starting new life. Respectfully, we work with living systems, energy, spirit, and places—shaping, renewing, re-enchanting and creating. The juice of life. Also jou jou...

Collective

We are never alone. Life is interconnected, and our work depends on collaboration. The physicality of working with the land and places requires collective energy, especially in amongst harms against ecology and community. Through projects and workshops, we share resources, skills, and ideas with millions of people around the world working to Design, Heal, Grow.

Hence, 'Garden Juju Collective'!

I weave beauty and function into my life and work. This includes cultivating a range of regenerative applied skills in design, facilitation, horticulture, eco-landscaping, food growing & preservation, Permaculture, regenerative farming, herbalism, fermentation, yoga, and wellness techniques – and generally as an approach to living an ethical and abundant life. My studies and work focus on design of personal well-being, community building and ecological land use.

Sharing my passion for impactful loving service through work as an educator, I travel offering design, consultation, project management, and a range of workshops.

Dr Charlie Brennan

My life is dedicated to creating abundant, just, and healthy human and ecological communities. For decades, I’ve worked in the regenerative sector—gardening, farming, landscape design, Permaculture, and conservation—collaborating with community organizations, schools, refugees, businesses, universities, and individuals to create positive change.

I specialize in education, project design and management, blending practical skills in trades with innovative approaches in Permaculture and social ecology. In 2011, I earned a PhD on implementing sustainability practices.

I am co-director of Gateway Farm and co-creator of the Adapt Design Deck. As co-Director of Garden Juju Collective, I design and manage large-scale regeneration projects and lead workshops globally. Visit my website for articles and project details.
